Customer
Williams (NYSE: WMB) is one of the biggest energy providers in the country, handling one-third of America’s energy supply. The company’s mission is to offer the best transport, storage and delivery solutions for reliable, low-cost, low-carbon energy.
Challenge
Williams launched a multi-year modernization and emissions program to make its transmission network future-ready, but the company didn’t have the ability to comprehensively quantify greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It turned to Context Labs’ Decarbonization-as-a-Service™ (DaaS™) platform to address this challenge.
Solution
Powered byContext Labs’ DaaS™ platform provides a comprehensive, integrated solution to measure, monitor and report GHG and criteria air pollutant emissions. The platform supports a suite of advanced detection and quantification technologies from Context Labs’ partners, combined with cutting-edge big data and machine learning analytics tools, digital ledger technologies, and registration services.
Using the DaaS™ platform, Williams has advanced its sustainability program and developed a service called the Williams Decarbonization Cloud (WDC). The company is now better positioned to make real-time decisions, meet new stakeholder reporting demands, and provide differentiated services to customers that accelerate its transition to Net Zero.
With WDC, Williams can track carbon intensity throughout its supply chain more accurately. It also can generate a pipeline of trusted environmental attributes to include low-carbon intensity certification in its positioning, which creates new revenue opportunities and redefines Williams as a “Super Node” market leader at the forefront of the global energy transition.
“By leveraging the Context Labs technology, we will enable supply and delivery decisions that connect the cleanest energy sources to meet real-time energy needs across the country.”
Chad Zamarin, Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategic Development, Williams
